offers luxury private accommodation in Salcombe, Devon

Whalley Farm Bed and Breakfast is a large working farm set in the green, rolling hills of the Cotswolds. A dairy farm of 650 acres, the scenery and ambiance are typical of the Cotswolds; with little valleys, hills, cornfields and woodland including ancient stone mines. We rear our own calves from our own pedigree Holstein livestock.

The guest house lies on the edge of Whittington Village and is 4 miles from Cheltenham town centre. The farm's location makes Prestbury race course, home of the famous Gold Cup, easily accessible and you can avoid the heavy town traffic.

The large listed period farmhouse, with its wooden beams and traditional Cotswold stone, dates back to the early 1600's. Although the farm has existed since Roman times. It is believed the house is built partly with the stone from the farm's own Roman Villa and stone from an ancient stone mine on the farm. The Roman Villa was recently excavated and featured on Channel Four's Time Team.

Cheltenham town centre, 10 minutes away, is internationally renowned for its music, literature and science festivals throughout the year, and the beautiful Regency town with all its attractions and architecture is worth visiting. Numerous buildings were built from stone out of the farm's old stone mine. London is 1.5 hours away, Oxford is 40 minutes, Cirencester 20 minutes and Stratford 40 minutes. The farmhouse is a non-smoking establishment including all bedrooms.

Please note that Whalley Farm is a listed building and consists of many flights of stairs. Unfortunately we are not able to offer any disabled facilities.
